Today saw the first game of 2007 for B.R.A.S.S.! We had two visitors, Berkelsk and Jean Paul. This was JP’s first airsoft foray and he preformed well! Berkelsk is a seasoned player and showed it today in his pairing with Stealth.
As Hammerhead and crew were running late, we started with a fire team death match with Itsahak and SA taking on Stealth and Berkelsk. After a bit of stalking each other, ‘Hak and SA noticed the OpFor on their six. They set up an ambush, only to find that it was the late arrivals, Hammerhead, The General, and JP. After a brief firefight, ‘Hak and SA moved up, only to encounter the late arrival team again. After that engagement, ‘Hak and SA moved down toward the creek bed and engaged Stealth and Berkelsk. ‘Hak was able to get Berkelsk, but the highlight was SA running forward full speed to take out Stealth before he could reload! In Stealth’s defence he was using a loner weapon he had never tried before, along with only standard mags. Threw his game off a little.
Next we played a Down Pilot scenario. Hammerhead ran as the Pilot with only his pistol. Stealth led the interception OpFor team of JP, Berkelsk and The General. After they had been gone for a while, ‘Hak and SA went in as the Rescue Team. All units stayed on one channel in a simulated “old school” setting (nice idea SA). This added a new element to the game as everyone could here all the com’s being put out. ‘Hak and SA actually encountered the Pilot just a short way into the game. Seems he’d watched the OpFor walk by him and extracted himself! They sent him back out and away from them to prolong the game. Unfortunately, they reacquired him just a few minutes later by the tree stand.  They sent him on again. Shortly thereafter they radioed for the Pilot to meet them at the Pond. Stealth, knowing the deviousness of Itsahak and SA’s minds, saw the trap and went the opposite direction. ‘Hak and SA finally aquired the Pilot only to be set on by the OpFor force. SA laid down cover fire while ‘Hak took to the ridge top with the Pilot. The Pilot got too far ahead of ‘Hak when ‘Hak turned to cover for the reloading SA. After finally catching the Pilot, ‘Hak was attempting to double back when Stealth managed to sneak up and kill the Pilot. Nice job Stealth!
The next game was the Death Match with the Ghost Squad. Only 3 people were required for the Ghost Squad. Teams set up with Stealth and Berkelsk, Hammerhead and The General, ‘Hak and JP, and SA ran solo. Many firefights ensued and the Ghost Squad was quickly activated. ‘Hak ended up as the last person being run down, and after taking out Hammerhead was quickly annihilated by SA. A fun game!
A good day, despite the rain, and the absence of some key members. Hopefully we will see them soon!
